Twenty-five years of knowing when to move.

We’ve built digital systems through the dot-com crash, the mobile revolution, the e-commerce boom, and the rise of performance marketing. Each shift separated the agencies that adapted from the ones that didn’t. We’re still here because we’ve always treated digital as infrastructure — not trend-chasing. Today that instinct points directly at AI.

Our story – Who we are

epoint was founded in Vienna in June 2000 — three months before the dot-com bubble burst. Most companies that launched that summer didn’t survive the crash. We did, because we made a decision early on that has guided us ever since: adapt or become irrelevant.

The idea came from a trip to the United States, where Daniel discovered that plane tickets were already being bought online while Austria still relied on travel agencies. That gap between where the market was and where it was going felt like an opportunity. So instead of taking a job, he started a company.

We opened a development office in Timișoara, Romania in December 2000. Twenty-five years later, that decision still defines how we operate — a leadership team rooted in Central European business culture, built on Eastern European technical depth.

We’ve grown through every major digital shift since: e-commerce, mobile, performance marketing, cloud platforms, and now AI. Not by predicting the future, but by staying close enough to it to move early. In that time we’ve delivered digital systems for companies in fintech, healthcare, logistics, media, and e-commerce — across four countries and three languages.

We are guided by 3 principles

1. What does your business actually need?

We start with the business model, not the brief. Before a single wireframe, line of code, or structured data schema, we map the gap between where you are and where digital can take you. This means asking uncomfortable questions early — about your processes, your customers, your real constraints — rather than jumping straight to solutions.

Over the years, our German-speaking clients sharpened our discipline here. Precision, compliance, and high standards are non-negotiable in those markets. We learned to earn them by listening longer than most agencies are willing to — and by being honest when a brief is solving the wrong problem.

Technology comes second. Always.

2. Who’s the right team to build it?

We draw from two professional cultures deliberately. German-speaking markets bring rigor, process discipline, and accountability. Our Romanian team brings technical depth, speed, and the flexibility to adapt when the problem turns out to be different from what the brief described.

We’ve spent 25 years learning how to combine both without losing either. The result is a team that moves at startup speed without cutting enterprise corners — and that understands the expectations on both sides of a project without having to be told.

For clients, this means faster delivery without the quality compromise that usually comes with it. And a team that doesn’t disappear when complexity increases.

3. Is it working, and what’s next?

We don’t disappear after launch. Every system we deliver — whether it’s a digital platform, an e-commerce solution, or an AI Visibility infrastructure — is designed to be measured, maintained, and extended.

Because the real risk in digital isn’t a failed launch. It’s a system that works perfectly for the world as it was when you built it, and fails silently as that world changes.

A project ends. A system evolves. We stay in it with you.

Daniel O. Banica,

CEO / Founder of epoint

Daniel studied at WU Wien from 1995 to 2000 and founded epoint before finishing his degree — after returning from a trip to the United States where he saw the future arriving faster than Europe expected. That instinct for early movement has defined 25 years of work at the intersection of business, design, and technology.

He has built and advised digital operations across Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Romania, and the United States — always with the same underlying question: how does digital change who gets found, and how do you position a business to be among them? Today, that question leads him directly into AI Visibility architecture: the discipline of making brands structurally recognizable and citable by large language models. He co-founded Aivis OS in 2025 as the operational methodology for this emerging field.
